\u00a0Devotional: Scoffers, Mockers, and the Peace of Letting Go<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn the last days scoffers will come, following their own ungodly desires.\u201d \u2014 2 Peter 3:3<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

There are moments in life when the words of Scripture step out of the page and into our everyday experiences. Sometimes it happens in the most ordinary places \u2014 a store, a conversation, a simple errand. And suddenly, we see with clarity what Jesus warned us about: hearts growing cold, people becoming hardened, and mockers rising where gentleness should be.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Recently, I encountered this very thing. A simple print order \u2014 something small, something beautiful, something created for the glory of God \u2014 became a moment of spiritual contrast. Instead of kindness, I met sarcasm. Instead of courtesy, I met forgetfulness and dismissal. And instead of respect for the things of God, I met a mocking tone from someone who claimed faith with his lips but denied it with his attitude.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Christ told us this would happen. Not to frighten us, but to prepare us.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBecause lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.\u201d \u2014 Matthew 24:12<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Yet even in moments like this, God gives His people a way of escape \u2014 not always from the situation, but from the weight of it. When I released the situation, canceled the order, and stepped away, a deep peace settled over me. A peace that didn\u2019t come from being understood or respected, but from letting go and entrusting the matter to God.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

And this is where the Lord reminded me of something deeper: Being rich toward God means giving Him our best \u2014 our time, our creativity, our devotion, our obedience. I don\u2019t earn an income from this ministry. No financial gifts have come in since last August. Yet I continue to pour out what I have: Bible studies, printing materials, gas for travel, giving Bibles, sharing images and evidence of God\u2019s truth. This is my offering to Him. This is why I do what I do \u2014 not for recognition, but for His glory.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

So when someone mocks or mishandles what I create, it doesn\u2019t diminish the offering. It only reveals the contrast between a heart softened by God and a heart hardened by the world. In a world of scoffers, keep creating beauty. In a world of mockers, keep walking in gentleness. In a world of hardened hearts, keep your heart soft.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And when you encounter coldness, release it \u2014 and let the peace of Christ settle over you like a quiet blessing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
